Walkies?

Hello Everyone....guess what? It’s the weekend and weekend are just awesome! A big thanks to www.dogbarkcollar.com  for this post today. We live for the weekend, because weekends mean Mum gets to spend a whole 2 days with us without having to go to work, although she does spend some time with her friends or doing other human things…which we think is completely unacceptable, don’t you agree? As Mum works full time and despite the fact we do get a good hour or so of walkies each week day Mum tries to take at least one of us out each weekend to some where a bit different. Like our blog post a few weeks ago when we all went to a place up in the Lake District which had a very doggy friendly visitor centre, called Brock Hole. Mum was feeling really brave that day and took all of us, and we behaved surprisingly well. As you all know Daisy Boo is a bit of a shy violet, around the boys she is a ruff and tumble macho girly. But in public places with lots of people she tries to avoid the centre of attention. But taking her out with Dante and Sampson she seems to see how they behave around strangers and in fact there is nothing to worry about.
Around our town and the especially Lake District is a fairly doggy friendly place and everything is within a reasonable drive for us-even though we have been to lots of places there are still loads of doggy friendly things for us to do and explore. But the best thing about where we live is the abundance of places for us to walk in safety and relatively undisturbed.
Firstly, all our local beaches are super dog friendly (as long as you are respectful and you make your human pick up your, erm ‘business’ and that your under control around other animals and people) there is a beach that has lots of wildlife in the sand Dunes, so between March and October you have to be on your leads so the birdies and other animals can have their babies in peace! Plus beaches are the best place for zoomies with your brother & sister.

Secondly there are lots of woods & forests for us to run around and explore near us too! In fact we go to the woods near our house almost every day (unless we go to the beach or somewhere different)and we often meet lots of our doggy friends up there too; you could call it an unofficial ‘doggy park’.
.Mum says although it is nice that we have each other to play with it is good for us to socialise with other doggies of all different shapes and sizes. We love it because it is a mixture of woods (and with woods there are lots of sniffs and things to roll in!) fields and big muddy puddles. We can have a big run too, as long as we avoid the trees, hehe.
Along with our woods and beaches, we can venture up into the Lake District where there are more places for us to walk- forests, lakes, moors and even mountains! But that is a story for another day. What about you, what are you favourite place, or places to walk?!
 Slobbers

P.S Mum got a bigger car recently- I still don't think we fit!

  1. It is completely unacceptable that humans go and do human things on the weekends, that is OUR time with them. Looks like you all had a great time!

  2. Your Mom treats you all so very well AND she really gets awesome photos. We do have to laugh at that last one - Sampson may need a vehicle all to himself:

  3. WE love this post. We would love to come and walk with you too. You have a lot of amazing places to walk, but mostly I LOVE the water walks. It has been so cold her that My Vickie has not let me get in the river when we walk along it.

I dont' mind the cold water, in fact I love it, but she is all "Sorry Bert, I dont' want to ride home with a wet cold dog"

    Humans.......

  6. SHE used to fit an Irish Wolfhound and a Deerhound in a mini....so we think you fit perfectly.

What great places to walk. We have lots of different walks, too. So we don't get bored. But we don't have a real beach...or woodlands. We'd love that. You're so lucky.

    XXXOOO Daisy, Bella & roxy

Bella doesn't like lots of people or dogs or loud noises or.......either.

It's just no fair that your Moms does 'human' things on the weekends ~ it should be all about doggies, right?! Right!

  8. Lots of fun and lovely pictures! I'm glad that there's a newer bigger car, even if it's still a tight fit. Really, my experience is that Elka wants to be on me at all times anyway, even when all other seats are open!

  13. Sounds a lot like where we live, we have a beach and woods too although ours tend not to like the woods (except for Elliot, he thinks he is a husky.)
Great pictures, you are all so adorable.

  16. Smile with Your Tail....
    Great pictures, as always!! ;)
Our favorite place to hike is an uphill trek of at least one mile!! Rose's ebony nostrils happily sniff everything, and she urinates frequently, leaving small "pee-mail" messages along the way!! We meet other people, she makes new doggie friends.... Once on top, our view--weather permitting!!--is beautiful mountains!! We like it!! ;op
Love, Raelyn.... And Rose, my BEAUTIFULLY UNIQUE "Mystery Dog"!!

  17. Howdy Mates, what great places you get to go and play. Fabulous. We love your last photo all together in the back of the car. Hehe, Sampson looks like me (Rory), sorta a bit squished. If only our cars both had a sunroof us big dogs would be just fine! No worries, and slobber, Rory and Stella

  19. What the hell, Banana!! You're all over darling Dante!

I'm glad Daisy Boo is getting a hang of the doggy dog world. And true, Mom, you guys still don't fit. But at least, right? Perhaps Sampy should be on the roof...

By the way, I love those action shots. How do you get them to run towards the camera?
