Our Big Hike and Dante's Sore Leg!

Hello Everyone!
So we are trying to force Mum to get her lazy bum online and do some more blogging, we would take it upon ourselves, but we lack opposable thumbs..and a computer.
But anyway we have had a busy busy week,  but before I tell you about adventures, Dante would like a word.

Hello Everyone...Dante here, now look at this photo, aren't I having fun?

Now this one....

that was me, before my STUPID little brother decided to jump on me when we were at the beach. He hurt my back leg, and it hurt- alot! I have damaged my hip and I'm not allowed to go on any walks for a while, I have to go to the V-E-T soon for X-rays, they mentioned something about early affects of hip-dysplasia. Mum was very upset but I was a very brave boy.
So I'm stuck in the house and not allowed to play with the other two until I'm better. I'm very bored, I can only play catch the ball so many times with Mum. *sigh*  She said I can go on a little walk round the block tomorrow, but that is IT! Pah, I hope I heal soon, Mum will let you know how I get on. In the mean time I'm going to make Mum feel sorry for me...

It seems to be working! So while I've been stuck at home sulking, Sampson and Daisy-Boo have been having fun, I'll let them tell you.

Ok, Sampson here, I may have jumped on Dante at the beach, but he wasn't giving me the ball, and I forgot how big I have gotten and I was really sorry and hurt him and made Mum mad at me! Sorry big bro :(
Quickly moving on now.......I just turned 10 months last week, so Mum decided now I'm getting bigger I could go on a small hike with her and Daisy-Boo.
She took us to one of her favourite places to hike, not too far from our house, a place called High Dam. It's not a very long walk but it is very pretty.

It's very quite this time of year and Mum didn't see a soul the entire walk, so come on then lets go!
Daisy-Boo was nice and clean at the start of our walk...see all prim and proper.

 Sampson, not so much...

Hey Sampson, come and eat this grass, it tastes great!
Ok big sis!

Time for the zooooooooomies!!!!

Unfortunately for us we had the zoomies in a didn't look like a marsh to us, but soon we both fell in a huge muddy pool, Mum found it hilarious....look at poor Daisy-Boo!
 ...and Sampsons back legs!
I kept climbing things and Mum kept telling me off, 'Your a dog not a mountain goat!'

Then Daisy-Boo made herself even more messy by rolling in the ferns.
Then our walk was cut short when we came across a 'kissing gate' Mum had to open it and slide us through to the other side, I was just big enough to fit through, shes worried about when I'm fully grown I won't fit!!

We had walked and walked until we finally reached the Tarn at the top, so we could go swimming, hooray!! Mum wanted to get us in the water so we could clean ourselves off and git rid of all the marsh dirt.
Daisy-Boo jumped in no problem (must be all the water dog in her) but me...I'm not going to lie, I was a bit too cold to go for a swim, So I waited for unsuspecting Daisy-Boo to get out..

 ..then attack her!!

On the way back we found this neat bridge where Daisy-Boo waited for me to cross with her.
C'mon Slow Poke!

Mum tried to get one good shot of us both posing, but we were being very un-photogenic and rubbish!

Mum, get that thing out of our faces! Now!

It was starting to get dark early because it was such a dull day (it didn't rain though- hooray!)  so we decided to take the short cut back to the car, which only takes about 10 mins, so I have no idea why Mum took us the long way to start with....she is a strange lady.

 One last refreshing drink,
Annnd then finally back to the car!

'I'm pooped big sis, are you?'
I was so sleepy I was asleep before Mum had even shut the door.
Daisy-Boo stayed awake to help Mum out of the car park and back to the main road till she fell asleep herself.  We did miss Dante loads though, I feel so bad for hurting him! Sorry Bro, Love you lots!

Hope everyone is having a great week.

  13. Wow!
You are having such brilliant adventures there.
We loved your zoomies video on Declans blog, good luck!
Hope your leg feels better soon Dante.

    Dip, Bridge and Elliot x

  14. Oh Boy what a great hike you had. And there was mountains, and trails and water. the perfect place. But my heart is with Dante cause I have to stay home from the walks to.

It really stinks being hurt and not being out with friends and families.

Take it easy Dante....think of me and I'll think of you and before we know it....we will be out hiking too.

  15. Hi Dante, Sampson and Daisy-Boo: Thanks for visiting my blog. I'm sorry that Dante has been hurt. We're hopeful that "bed-rest" and light exercise (a walk around the block) will be enough. We hope that the vet is wrong about hip-dysplasia but perhaps some non-surgical remedies will take care of the potential problem. Thanks for taking us along for the walk. It sure looked scenic and fun, especially the marsh and ferns. My brother Own likes to flip on his back to get his belly rubbed. I used to do that but find it difficult to do because my hind legs don't work too well. So I just roll on my side and then my mom or dad will rub my belly. I'll be back soon to check on Dante. I hope that you'll be fine soon.

  16. Hi. I hope that Dante feels better really soon. What a great hike, including lots of mud! That looked like fun!

  17. Excellent look into your venture! I just started following your blog...

  18. I guess Dante is still having the sore leg... since Mom hasn't posted anything new. I hope he gets better.

    Huggies and Cheese,

  19. Thanks for visiting my blog again. How's Dante doing?

  20. Oh my, Hope Dante is feeling better. I know how it feels to be home and limit the activities as I just had knee surgery. Take it easy.

  21. Beautiful scenery and dogs! LOVE seeing everyone having so much fun! How is the leg??

  22. Hi Y'all,

Sampson it looks like your human has not only forgiven you but treated you to a hike.

Dante, we all know what it's like when we are injured or had a surgical procedure and are on "bed rest". My Human is big on massage therapy. It helps a lot with the soreness. She even gives me alcohol rubs.

    Y'all come back now,
    Hawk aka BrownDog

  23. That looks like an amazing walk. We are quite envious. AND we can't believe how much Sampson has grown! He's ENORMOUS. No wonder Dante's leg is sore. :)
